Synopsis
On Orr's Island off the coast of Maine, a recovering alcoholic Dr. Ben Cahill, escapes in order to put his life back together after a difficult divorce. Once on the island, Cahill, discovers that the village locals are being killed off by an insect that resembles an ordinary household cockroach, one which has never attacked humans in the past. The island is infested with the deadly bugs, who are using their human victims as a host for their eggs. Cahill, the town's no-nonsense sheriff and a beautiful shopkeeper attempt to convince the skeptical residents that danger lurks in every corner of their homes and farms, but time is running out as the bugs continue to reproduce at a ferocious rate.
