Synopsis

Sam Polvino comes to a small Montana town to recruit employees for his Chicago retail agency. His first interviewee is Vera Johnson, a recent high school graduate eager for her first job. However Sam has not been upfront about why he is in Montana--he agreed to find Vera Johnson to fulfill a final request for a dying friend. Not understanding the true nature of this request, Sam had grudgingly agreed. However as the story unfolds, strange things begin to happen. Vera finds herself increasingly intrigued by this man from the big city. Mysterious and roughly attractive, Sam represents an unexplored world of possibilities. But Sam recognizes the part he's played in exposing Vera to the realities of her origins. And accepting the vulnerability of her present state of mind, he feels uncharacteristically protective of her. The two are thus swept up in a journey to uncover a hidden past.
