Synopsis
Television movie based on A.R. Gurney's two-person play tracing the relationship between a man and a woman through their letters from grade school through middle age. Senator Andrew Ladd and artist Melissa Gardner fell in love as children. Their romance is sparked by their extensive correspondence, which continues throughout significant turning points in their teenage and adult years. For Andy, his correspondence with Melissa allows him to express his true feelings. Melissa realizes that Andy is hiding behind their written communication and struggles to draw him to her.
