Synopsis

Set in Oklahoma, a bleak tale of small-town tragedy and loss of faith about a recently sprung ex-con, Jack, who hastily marries a shy waitress, Ainsley, with whom he had been corresponding while in prison. Only after their rushed courtship and hasty marriage does Ainsley learn that Jack--who gives every indication of having had a religious conversion while in prison--served time for brutally beating a former girlfriend.
