Synopsis
An adaptation of the play based on the Scopes "monkey trial" of 1925, in which a high school teacher in Tennessee was prosecuted for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution. The leading characters of Matthew Harrison Brady and Henry Drummond are thinly veiled portraits of the actual attorneys in the case, William Jennings Bryan and Clarence Darrow.
