Synopsis

Lieut. John Scott, an adventurous young United States Army officer, is assigned to a frontier military post in the heart of Sioux territory. Encountering a band of Indians attacking a stagecoach, John thwarts the raid and wins the admiration of Jane Logan, en route to join her brother at a nearby ranch. He establishes himself with his men by subduing an outlaw horse turned over to him as a prank, but he is rebuked by Captain Ortwell when he objects to engaging the services of Scar Face Charlie, a treacherous Indian who is spying at the post. In spite of attempts to declare peace, Charlie incites the Sioux to war. Scott arouses their superstitious dread by disguising himself as a medicine man, but is unsuccessful. The troops are then induced to leave the fort by a message from Charlie. Lieutenant Scott, however, leads the men back to the fort, and the Sioux attack is repulsed.
