Synopsis
When her husband Bob eagerly goes to fight in Vietnam with the Marines in 1968, Sally Hyde begins volunteering at the local V.A. There she meets Luke Martin, a Marine who was one of her high school classmates. Luke was wounded in Vietnam and is now a bitter paraplegic. As he and Sally develop a relationship, she begins to examine her beliefs about the war, and as his spirit is renewed, he begins to focus his anger into protest against it. Sally g s to visit Bob in Hong Kong, finding that he is more withdrawn from her, and when she returns, she realizes that she is in love with Luke. When Bob returns from the war injured, the three of them try to adjust to the changes in their lives.
