Biography
Slender, dark-haired actress who appeared in several films of the French New Wave, particularly those directed by first husband Jean-Luc Godard. Karina was outstanding as the lonely, lovelorn prostitute in "My Life To Live" (1962) and the effervescent petty criminal in "Band of Outsiders" (1964). She also gave a fine performance in Jacques Rivette's "La Religieuse/The Nun" (1966), and continued to appear in international features, enjoying a chance at directing with the 1973 film, "Vivre Ensemble."
