Biography
John Gowans was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He had an early role on the television special "Miss Jones" (ABC, 1990-91). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "Promised a Miracle" (1987-88), "Leap of Faith" (CBS, 1988-89) and "Storm and Sorrow" (Lifetime, 1990-91). He also acted in various film roles at the time, appearing in the Didi Conn musical "You Light Up My Life" (1977) and the Richard Thomas sci-fi fantasy "Battle Beyond the Stars" (1980). Several more television roles followed in the nineties, including stints on "Homefront" (1991-93), "Harts of the West" (CBS, 1993-94) and "VR.5" (Fox, 1994-97). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Heroes of Desert Storm" (ABC, 1991-92). Recently, he tackled roles on "Judging Amy" (1999-2005), "The District" (CBS, 2000-04) and "Crossing Jordan" (NBC, 2001-07). He also appeared in "Real Husbands of Hollywood" (BET, 2012-). He also was featured in the TV movie "Dreamrider" (Showtime, 1999-2000). Most recently, Gowans acted in "The Pact II" (2014) with Camilla Luddington.
