Lawrence Grossmith was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1896, he made his stage debut in "Mam'zelle Nitouche" at the Court Theatre in London. In 1913, he took over the management of the Savoy Theatre. In 1914, he made his screen debut in the silent film "The Glass Bottle." Grossmith began his career with a role in "Captain Fury" (1939) with Brian Aherne. Grossmith next focused his career on film, appearing in "Opened By Mistake" (1940). Later in his career, Grossmith acted in the adaptation "Gaslight" (1944) with Charles Boyer. Grossmith passed away in February 1944 at the age of 67.
