Biography

Juliette Greco was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Greco's career in acting began with her roles in various films like the Jean Marais drama "Orphee" (1950), the drama "The Green Glove" (1952) with Glenn Ford and the romance "Elena and Her Men" (1956) with Ingrid Bergman. She also appeared in the Tyrone Power dramatic adaptation "The Sun Also Rises" (1957). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, appearing in "Bonjour Tristesse" (1958) with Deborah Kerr, "The Roots of Heaven" (1958) and "Crack in the Mirror" (1960). She also appeared in "The Big Gamble" (1961). During the latter half of her career, she tackled roles in the Peter O'Toole dramatic adaptation "The Night of the Generals" (1967) and "Lily Aime-Moi" (1974) with Jean-Michel Folon. Greco's music was most recently used in the Carey Mulligan dramatic adaptation "An Education" (2009). Greco's husband was Michel Piccoli.
