Biography
Richard Garland was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. Garland's earliest roles were in film, including the action movie "Red Ball Express" (1952) with Jeff Chandler, the western "The Battle at Apache Pass" (1952) with John Lund and the Audie Murphy western "The Cimarron Kid" (1952). He also appeared in the Joseph Cotten western "Untamed Frontier" (1952). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Ginger Rogers dramedy "Forever Female" (1953) and the western "Rage at Dawn" (1955) with Randolph Scott. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Lassie" (CBS, 1954-1974). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Gary Cooper drama "Friendly Persuasion" (1956), "Attack of the Crab Monsters" (1957) and "The Undead" (1957). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca" (ABC, 1958-1960). Garland more recently acted in "Panic in Year Zero" (1962). Garland was married to Beverly Garland.
