Biography
Rita Gam found incredible success as an accomplished actress, appearing in a variety of films throughout her Hollywood career. Rita Gam's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Ray Milland spy picture "The Thief" (1952), the Gregory Peck spy thriller "Night People" (1954) and the historical film "Sign of the Pagan" (1954) with Jeff Chandler. She also appeared in the Brian Keith western "Sierra Baron" (1958), "Hannibal" (1960) and "King of Kings" (1961). She continued to act in productions like "No Exit" (1962), "Shoot Out" (1971) and the crime flick "Klute" (1971) with Jane Fonda. She also appeared in "Such Good Friends" (1971) with Dyan Cannon. Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Grace Kelly -- The American Princess" (Cinemax, 1986-87) and "Grace, Caroline, Stephanie: The Curse of the Royal Family -- The E! True Hollywood Story" (E! Networks, 1996-97). Most recently, Rita Gam appeared on "They Came For Good: A History of the Jews in the United States" (PBS, 2000-01). Rita Gam was married to Sidney Lumet and had one child.
