Mathilde Seigner

Biography
For a stretch at the turn of the millennium, there was no more valued a supporting actress in France than Mathilde Seigner, the sister of Roman Polanski's wife, Emmanuelle. It began with a César Award nomination in that category for the 1997 comedy-drama "Dry Cleaning" and continued two years later with a second same-category nod for 1999's "The Venus Beauty Institute," a look at the lives and loves of a group of female employees. Seigner landed yet another César support nomination for the 2000 comedy "Harry Is Here to Help." Somehow though, she failed to win on all three occasions. Still, it marked a rather remarkable rise for a performer who only began film acting in 1994 with small roles in a trio of movies. Seigner had a big commercial hit in 2006 with "Camping," a vehicle patterned on the stage material of humorist Franck Dubosc, following up in 2010 with sequel "Camping 2."
