One White, One Black, One Blonde was the tag-line for the hip undercover cop series "The Mod Squad," a show about three juvenile offenders offered the chance to form the ultimate crime-fighting unit rather than go to jail. Add to that "One Chaperone," and you have Tige Andrews's character, Captain Adam Greer, the adult detective responsible for overseeing these young enforcers. As Greer, Andrews was the perfect foil for the cool youngsters: when it came to the new counterculture scene, he was a stranger in a strange land, and these kids were his guides. Of course this arrangement offered plenty of dramatic and comedic tension, because they weren't always totally responsible, and he wasn't always totally understanding. Tige Andrews was well-known for another role in the blue uniform: Johnny Russo on "The Detectives Starring Robert Taylor." In this three-season-long show, Andrews played a burglary detective who joined his own elite crime unit, headed by Detective Captain Matt Holbrook (played by Robert Taylor).
