Biography

Joseph Culp was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. Culp began his acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the drama "Dream Lover" (1986) with Kristy McNichol, the adaptation "Iguana" (1988) with Everett McGill and the Irene Cara action picture "Caged in Paradiso" (1989). He also appeared in the John Saxon sci-fi picture "The Arrival" (1991). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "A Doctor's Story" (NBC, 1983-84) and "Blue Bayou" (NBC, 1989-1990). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the nineties, appearing in "The Secret Life of Houses" (1993) with Remy Ryan, the Alex Hyde-White action movie "Fantastic Four" (1994) and "The Garden of Eden" (1994) with Renee Coleman. He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "Panther" (1995) with Kadeem Hardison. In his more recent career, he tackled roles in the Jean-Hugues Anglade thriller "Dark Summer" (1999), "Hunger" (2001) and "Baadasssss!" (2004). He also appeared in "The Reflecting Pool" (2008). Most recently, Culp acted on "New Girl" (Fox, 2011-).
