Biography

A native of London, England, Nicholas Coster moved to America with his family as a young boy. Coster would return to London after World War II, honing his craft as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and beginning what would be a long and fruitful career. Although his career began with small, occasionally uncredited roles in such Hollywood films as "Titanic" and "City Of Shadows," Coster soon found his calling in the world of television, where he has done some of his most popular work. His first major break came when he was given the opportunity to create the character of Professor Paul Britton in the CBS daytime series "The Secret Storm," a role Coster held for four years. He has since compiled an impressive repertoire of work in over 50 television series spanning several decades, including a memorable, decade-long run as Lionel Lockridge in the serial "Santa Barbara." In some cases, Coster has even played the same part on different shows, as on "Our Private World" and "As The World Turns" with the character John Elridge. Outside of his busy acting career, Coster has found time to pass on his expertise, working as a drama teacher, and he is also an active scuba-diving instructor, having started the "Challenges Foundation" to teach people with disabilities to participate in the sport.
