Movie Clip

Last Days Of Pompeii, The (1935) -- (Movie Clip) The Physical Setting Of This Picture Make no mistake about your epic scale, as producer Merian C. Cooper and director Ernest B. Schoedsack (of King Kong fame, two years earlier) bank their hefty set and special effects costs, with an unusual prologue attributing the story, and we meet Lucius and Gaius (Marc Loebell, Frank Conroy), opening The Last Days Of Pompeii, 1935.
Last Days Of Pompeii, The (1935) -- (Movie Clip) Just About What The Job Is Worth We’ve established the city of Pompeii, in what must be the early years Anno Domini, when gladiator wrangler Cleon (William V. Mong) needs an assist from top-billed Preston Foster (introduced here as blacksmith Marcus), Gloria Shea his wife, and Frank Conroy as interested nobleman Gaius, early in RKO’s The Last Days Of Pompeii, 1935.
Young Philadelphians, The (1959) -- (Movie Clip) Interesting Heredity On summer break from Princeton, pre-Law roommates Robert Vaughn, as ultra-rich party animal Chet, and Paul Newman as respectable but under-funded Tony, at the polo club, meet Chet’s guardian uncles, Robert Douglas, then Frank Conroy, who appears to know the secret of Tony’s lineage, in The Young Philadelphians, 1959.
Midnight Mary (1933) -- (Movie Clip) Her Vicious Criminal Career From the top, Frank Conroy the prosecutor and top-billed Loretta Young the accused title character, the outcome not looking good as her trial ends, Charley Grapewin the philosophical but gaff-prone clerk with her awaiting a verdict, in Midnight Mary, 1933, from MGM and William A. Wellman.
Threat, The (1949) -- (Movie Clip) I Wouldn't Stand There Thugs Nick and Lefty (Anthony Caruso, Frank Richards) making like friendly painters for cops guarding the office of the DA MacDonald (Frank Conroy), who’s been threatened by escaped killer “Red” Kluger (Charles McGraw), who makes his first to-camera appearance here, in the little-known low-rent Noir The Threat, 1949.
Threat, The (1949) -- (Movie Clip) She Spill Anything? Vengeful escaped gangster Kluger (Charles McGraw) is laying into his hostages, the D-A (Frank Conroy) and cop Williams (Michael O’Shea), with help from his goons (Anthony Caruso, Frank Richards), when he makes clear what he’s after from also-abducted ex-girlfriend Carol (Virginia Grey), in The Threat, 1949, directed by Felix Feist.
Naked City, The (1948) -- (Movie Clip) The Kid Has Nerve Darn near unvarnished police procedure, as Donahue (Frank Conroy) and Halloran (Don Taylor) canvass for a suspect, director Jules Dassin working New York locations, until producer Mark Hellinger's narration resumes the policeman's lament in The Naked City, 1948.
Ox-Bow Incident, The (1943) -- (Movie Clip) The Law's Slow And Careless Martin (Dana Andrews), questioned by Major Tetley (Frank Conroy) and other members of the posse-or-lynch-mob, discovers he's suspected of murder, Gil (Henry Fonda) offering some defense, in Wiliam A. Wellman's The Ox-Bow Incident, 1943.
