First garnered attention for "The Brendan Voyage", a musical suite for uileann pipes and orchestra inspired by historian Tim Severin's attempt to retrace the sea voyage of St Brendan

1983

Debuted "The Pilgrim", a suite for orchestra, soloists, pipe band and choir, at the Lorient Interceltic Festival

1985

Premiered "Granuile (Grace O'Malley)", written for singer Rita Connolly; a song cycle about a 16th-century female Irish seafarer

1993

Wrote incidental music used in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of "The Winter's Tale"

1995

Penned the evocative underscore for the TV miniseries "The Hanging Gale" (aired in USA on Bravo in 1999)

1995

Debut as a film composer, "Loving"

1996

Wrote incidental music for Sebastian Barry's play "The Steward of Christendom"

1996

Scored Trevor Nunn's film adaptation of "Twelfth Night"

Reteamed with Barry, providing music for the play "Prayers of Sherkin"
