Douglas Wood was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Wood's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "Bottoms Up" (1934), "Great Expectations" (1934) with Henry Hull and the Bette Davis romance "Dangerous" (1935). He also appeared in the Dick Foran western "Guns of the Pecos" (1936), the Henry Hunter crime flick "Parole!" (1936) and "Navy Born" (1936)...

Douglas Wood was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Wood's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "Bottoms Up" (1934), "Great Expectations" (1934) with Henry Hull and the Bette Davis romance "Dangerous" (1935). He also appeared in the Dick Foran western "Guns of the Pecos" (1936), the Henry Hunter crime flick "Parole!" (1936) and "Navy Born" (1936). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in "Over the Goal" (1937), "This Is My Affair" (1937) and "West of Shanghai" (1937). He also appeared in "On the Avenue" (1937) with Dick Powell. In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in "Eadie Was a Lady" (1945), "Voice of the Whistler" (1945) and "Tomorrow Is Forever" (1946). He also appeared in the comedy "Because of Him" (1946) with Deanna Durbin and the Maureen O'Hara musical "Do You Love Me?" (1946). Wood last acted in the comedy "That Certain Feeling" (1956) with Bob Hope. Wood passed away in January 1966 at the age of 86.
