Biography
Actor-musician Joe Williams made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen. Williams began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the Burt Reynolds action flick "Sharky's Machine" (1981), the fantastical comedy "All of Me" (1984) with Steve Martin and the action picture "City Heat" (1984) with Clint Eastwood. His music also appeared in the Robin Williams hit dramatic comedy "Good Morning, Vietnam" (1987). In addition to his music, Williams appeared in the Patrick McGoohan comedic drama "The Moonshine War" (1970) and the Joan Baez documentary "Sing Sing Thanksgiving" (1974). In the eighties and the nineties, Williams devoted his time to various credits, such as "Sesame Street, Special" (PBS, 1987-88), "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts" (CBS, 1987-88) and "She's Out Of Control" with Tony Danza (1989). He also worked on "Wild At Heart" (1990). Williams was most recently credited in the Robert Downey Jr. smash hit action movie "Iron Man 3" (2013). Williams also contributed music to "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997). Williams passed away in March 1999 at the age of 81.
