Lee Wilkof
Biography
Biography
Lee Wilkof's career began on the stage, notably with his starring turn as Seymour on the off-off-Broadway production of the rock musical "Little Shop of Horrors." He has been a fixture on the New York theater scene ever since, earning a Tony nomination for his 2000 performance in "Kiss Me, Kate." He is less known in feature film, though he has appeared opposite countless A-list stars in critically acclaimed pictures, including mainstream fare like the feel-good rock 'n' roll comedy "School of Rock," as well as more artsy material like the crime drama "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead." Wilkof has appeared as a guest star on many TV series, with recurring parts on shows like courtroom dramedy "Ally McBeal" and frat house sitcom "Delta House." Though he is best known for his comedic roles, Wilkof has proven his ability to master the darkest of dramatic material, even diving into the issue of the Holocaust in the obscure but under-appreciated "The Grey Zone," the true story of Jewish concentration camp prisoners who rebelled against their Nazi captors.
