Biography
Nana Vasconcelos brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Vasconcelos began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the Kevin Costner comedic adventure "Fandango" (1985), the sci-fi fantasy "Slipstream" (1989) with Mark Hamill and the thriller "Bad Influence" (1990) with Rob Lowe. In the nineties, Vasconcelos's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Mickey Rourke drama "Wild Orchid" (1990), the Kari Väänänen adventure "Amazon" (1991) and the comedy "Because Why" (1994) with Michael Riley. His work was also in the documentary "Tigrero: A Film That Was Never Made" (1994) with Samuel Fuller and "Daughters of Yemanja" (1995). Vasconcelos's music was also featured in "Landscapes of Memory" (1997) and "The First Day" (2000) with Fernanda Torres. His music also appeared on the television show "The West" (PBS, 1996-97). Most recently, Vasconcelos worked on the Caco Ciocler foreign "Quase Dois Irmaos" (2005).
