Biography
Actor-musician Raymond Turner made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen. Turner began his acting career with roles in such films as "The Patent Leather Kid" (1927), "A Thief in the Dark" (1928) and "Synthetic Sin" (1928). He also appeared in "Weary River" (1929). He continued to act in productions like the musical comedy "Josette" (1938) with Don Ameche, the Jack Randall western "The Gun Packer" (1938) and the dramedy "Diggstown" (1992) with James Woods. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Married... With Children" (Fox, 1986-1997). Turner's music was most recently used in "Baby Boy" (2001) with Tyrese Gibson. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Turner lent his talents to projects like "Leprechaun" with Warwick Davis (1992), "South Central" with Glenn Plummer (1992) and "The Burning Zone" (UPN, 1996-97). His credits also expanded to "Nurse Betty" with Morgan Freeman (2000).
