Esther Sutherland found incredible success as an accomplished actress, appearing in a variety of films throughout her Hollywood career. Sutherland had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the Louise Ober drama "Riverrun" (1970), "Black Belt Jones" (1974) and the sequel "Sunshine Part II" (1976) with Cliff De Young. She had a part on the television special "The Boys" (CBS, 1973-74). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like the drama "The Commitment" (1976) with Richard Grand, the Richard Dreyfuss comedy "The Goodbye Girl" (1977) and "9 to 5" (1980) with Jane Fonda. Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Hustler of Muscle Beach" (ABC, 1979-1980). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the comedy "Stir Crazy" (1980) with Gene Wilder and the comedy "Young Doctors in Love" (1982) with Michael McKean. Additionally, she appeared on the television special "Nichols and Dymes" (NBC, 1981-82). Sutherland more recently acted in the Pam Grier action flick "Foxy Brown" (1988).
