In the beginning of his acting career, Short starred in comedies like "A Fine Mess" (1986) with Ted Danson and Howie Mandel, "Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael" (1990) with Winona Ryder and "Brenda Starr" (1992) with Brooke Shields and Timothy Dalton. He also appeared in the TV movie "The Other Lover" (CBS, 1985-86). He continued to act in productions like "Diggstown" (1992) with James Woods, the Tom Hanks box office smash action film "Apollo 13" (1995) and the Whoopi Goldberg dramatic adaptation "The Associate" (1996). Most recently, Short acted on "Close to Home" (CBS, 2005-07).
