She also appeared in the drama "Kentucky" (1938) with Loretta Young, the Walter Huston drama "Of Human Hearts" (1938) and "The Affairs of Annabel" (1938). She continued to act in productions like "Bachelor Mother" (1939) with Ginger Rogers, the Vivien Leigh blockbuster dramatic adaptation "Gone With the Wind" (1939) and "Swanee River" (1939). She also appeared in "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" (1940), "Blondie Plays Cupid" (1940) and "Comin' Round the Mountain" (1940). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "Golden Gloves" (1940), the crime flick "Queen of the Mob" (1940) with Ralph Bellamy and the adaptation "The Blue Bird" (1940) with Shirley Temple Black. She also appeared in "Thou Shalt Not Kill" (1940), the crime picture "The Madonna's Secret" (1946) with Francis Lederer and "Boomerang" (1947) with Dana Andrews.
