Biography
Anthony Powers was an actor who made a successful career for himself in film. Powers's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Jack Lemmon dramatic adaptation "Tribute" (1980), the comedic adventure "Forever, Lulu" (1987) with Hanna Schygulla and the dramedy "Five Corners" (1988) with Jodie Foster. He also appeared in the comedy "Cookie" (1989) with Peter Falk, "Sons" (1989) and "Cadillac Man" (1990). He kept working in film throughout the nineties, starring in the Robert De Niro crime feature "Goodfellas" (1990) and the Leo Rossi action film "We're Talkin' Serious Money" (1992). Following that project, he worked on "Crime & Punishment" (1992-93), "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1993-97) and "NYPD Blue" (1993-2005). Powers also created music for "Father of the Bride" (1991) with Steve Martin. More recently, he tackled roles in "CITYSCRAPES los angeles" (1996) with Max Perlich, "Somebody to Love" (1996) with Rosie Perez and the Leonardo DiCaprio hit crime flick "Catch Me If You Can" (2002). He also appeared in the David Duchovny comedic drama "Full Frontal" (2002). Powers's music was most recently used in the comedy "Pirate Radio" (2009) with Philip Seymour Hoffman. He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Liz: The Elizabeth Taylor Story" (1994-95). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The King of Queens" (CBS, 1998-2007).
