Biography
Biography
British character actor Geoffrey Palmer began his professional career as a stage actor following World War II. Typecast as a particular sort of grumpy suburbanite throughout his career, Palmer gained widespread notice with roles in two iconic British sitcoms of the 1970s, the middle-class satire "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" and the slightly melancholy romantic comedy "Butterflies." Later in life, he starred opposite Judi Dench in the long-running and critically acclaimed sitcom "As Time Goes By"; Palmer and Dench also were part of the same cast in several films, including the historical drama "Mrs. Brown" and the James Bond adventure ("Tomorrow Never Dies").
