Actor James O'Connell was widely known for his presence on the silver screen. He also was featured in the miniseries "Captains and the Kings" (1976-77). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "James Dean" (1975-76), "Tail Gunner Joe" (NBC, 1976-77) and "Roger & Harry: The Mitera Target" (ABC, 1976-77). He also acted in various movies at the time, including the comedic drama "Nickelodeon" (1976) with Ryan O'Neal and the comedy "Hero at Large" (1980) with John Ritter. He then appeared in the drama "Human Experiments" (1980) with Linda Haynes, "Death Hunt" (1981) with Charles Bronson and "Sharky's Machine" (1981) with Burt Reynolds. In his more recent career, he tackled roles in "Eyes of An Angel" (1991) with John Travolta, the dramatic comedy "The Cable Guy" (1996) with Jim Carrey and "Next Stop Wonderland" (1998). He also appeared in the Wendel Meldrum comedy "Cruel But Necessary" (2005). Most recently, O'Connell worked on the Richard Gere dramatic adaptation "The Hoax" (2007).
