Biography
Fred Nurney was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Nurney landed roles in various films, including "Five Graves to Cairo" (1943), the dramatic adaptation "Summer Storm" (1944) with George Sanders and "Voice in the Wind" (1944). He also appeared in "Calcutta" (1947). He continued to act in productions like the Barbara Stanwyck romance "B.F.'s Daughter" (1948), "Sleep, My Love" (1948) and the comedy "Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion" (1950) with Bud Abbott. He also appeared in "Mystery Submarine" (1950). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "South Sea Sinner" (1950), the drama "All I Desire" (1953) with Barbara Stanwyck and "Magnificent Obsession" (1954) with Jane Wyman. Nurney more recently acted in the remake "There's Always Tomorrow" (1956) with Barbara Stanwyck. Nurney passed away in September 1973 at the age of 78.
