Won a Time Out award for Best New Play for "Now and at the Hour of Our Death."

1995

Appeared in a production of Mike Leigh's "Ecstasy," winning a <i>Village Voice</i> Obie Award for Best Ensemble Acting.

1997

Landed her first film role as a drug addict in the film "The Break."

2000

Gave an acclaimed performance in the Southern Gothic film "A Good Baby."

2000

Played a prostitute in the film "American Psycho," a role she defended when the MPAA gave the film an NC-17 rating. Seymour argued publicly that the organization should recognize satire and treat depictions of sex with the same permissiveness it did violence.

2002

Appeared in the landmark period film "Gangs of New York."

2009

Appeared in the acclaimed film "An Education."

2012

Played Lily in a production of Brian Friel's "Freedom of the City" at The Irish Repertory Theater.

Took on the role of Sister Harriet on the period series "The Knick."
