Biography

Dorothy Neumann was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Neumann's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Sorry, Wrong Number" (1948), the comedy "The Luck of the Irish" (1948) with Tyrone Power and "Wabash Avenue" (1950) with Betty Grable. She also appeared in the dramatic comedy "My Blue Heaven" (1950) with Betty Grable, "Take Me to Town" (1953) with Ann Sheridan and the Lana Turner musical comedy "Latin Lovers" (1953). She continued to act in productions like the Glenn Ford dramatic adaptation "Blackboard Jungle" (1955), the Bing Crosby adaptation "Anything Goes" (1956) and the action picture "Teenage Doll" (1957) with June Kenney. She also appeared in the western "The Oklahoman" (1957) with Joel McCrea. Toward the end of her career, she tackled roles in the Mary Ann Mobley musical "Get Yourself a College Girl" (1964), the dramatic adaptation "Valley of the Dolls" (1967) with Barbara Parkins and "Hail, Hero!" (1969). She also appeared in the Ayn Ruymen horror feature "Private Parts" (1972). Neumann was most recently credited in "Out of Season" (1999) with Carol Monda. Neumann passed away in May 1994 at the age of 80.
