Biography
For certain generations of TV viewers, actor Kent McCord will forever be Officer Jim Reed on the popular police drama "Adam-12." McCord began his show-business career in a number of uncredited film parts during the 1960s, and got his big break as a recurring character on the popular family show "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet." In '67, McCord was featured on episodes of "Dragnet," and this led to his starring role in '68 cop series "Adam-12." Lauded for its realism, the show made McCord and co-star Martin Milner into celebrities and ran for an impressive seven seasons. Later McCord starred in the short-lived "Battlestar Galactica" spin-off "Galactica 1980," and appeared in a small part in the feature comedy "Airplane II: The Sequel." During the '90s, McCord was featured in more sci-fi productions, including the big-budget movie "Predator 2" and the TV shows "SeaQuest 2032" and "Farscape," but kept a low profile in the following decades.
