Dark doings in Lisbon, in her first scene Irene (Hedy Lamarr) is not lucky but it seems Dutch resistance agent Van Der Lyn (Paul Henreid) is, in what seems a chance encounter, early in Jean Negulesco's The Conspirators, 1944, co-starring Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre.

In the opening narration, if Paul Henreid (as Dutch resistance agent Van Der Lyn) flying to Lisbon seems familiar, it is a different movie, after fellow traveler Lutzke (Kurt Katch), he is interrogated by coy Captain Pereira (Joseph Calleia), in The Conspirators, directed by Jean Negulesco.
