Synopsis

Kamel Najer is Bedouin who works as a security guard at Be'er Sheba's central bus station on the northern edge of the Negev desert. He spends his days looking for suspicious packages that might contain a bomb. After work, he returns home to a nomadic desert camp that has been assigned to him, his brother, his wife and a herd of goats. After work one day, he finds a governmental directive from the Israeli authorities stating that his home is to be torn down. Although his family has lived in this desert region for centuries, they have no documentation to prove ownership. Determined to fight back, Kamel uses the discovery of a bomb at work to draw attention to the problems of the Bedouin minority.
