Synopsis

Silvio, a businessman, and his wife, Clara, go with their daughter and an aunt to an Italian seashore resort for a vacation. There they meet Giancarlo, a lecherous architecture student working as a beachguard for the summer. Giancarlo has sex with his young mistress, Marina, in front of Clara, and later he bursts into Clara's dressing room while she is naked. He seduces her, and they have sex a number of times--on a raft, on the beach, and in a boathouse. Clara experiences orgasm for the first time and realizes how unfulfilling her sexual relations with her husband have been. In hopes of improving their marriage, Clara tells Silvio of her experiences, but he becomes angry and threatens to leave her. By now, Giancarlo has returned to Marina, and Clara is extremely depressed. Her husband finds her in a coma from an overdose of barbiturates but allows her to die before calling a doctor.
