Synopsis

After her mother's retirement, Maisie Marvello takes over as the head of her travelling vaudevillian family. When her sister Judie falls in love with Ronald Jamieson, a member of the King's guard, Maisie goes to his commanding officer to seek permission for the young couple to marry. The commanding officer is Maisie's old sweetheart, Colonel Philip Markham, who failed fifteen years early to marry her in a similar situation.
