Synopsis
Amidst the stifling climate of superstition and repressive religious dogma of the 11th Century, a young Christian man burning with desire to become a physician makes an epic journey from London to Persia dangerously disguised as a Jew - a deception that propels him into political intrigue, forces him into battle and almost costs him his life - but is nevertheless a journey of grand adventure in which he finds both love and the courage to satisfy the intense longing in his soul.
