Synopsis
Arash is an Iranian academic who has been living in the West for 22 years. He returns to Iran to teach in Shiraz, where his mother lives, far away from Tehran. A week after his arrival, he finds himself unable to obtain a passport allowing him to leave the country again. He then relies on his nephew, who knows how to pull strings with their highly respected name, to help him. Arash is subsequently drawn into a web of family and financial intrigue while rediscovering a country he no longer understands and in which he feels like a foreigner. Upon the death of his father with whom he had lost contact, he realizes what has become of his "respectable family" and finds himself facing difficult choices.
