Synopsis

The story of Camille, a professor at a Protestant college who is engaged to Martin, a respected minister and fellow professor. As "career Christians," they are urged to get married so that she and Martin can become co-chaplains of the New College of Faith. When Camille meets Petra, a flamboyant circus performer, she is inexplicably drawn to her. Camille is lured into the seductive, dream-like world of a modern Fellini-esque circus. As their relationship develops, Camille's buried desires come rushing forward for the first time. Terrified at the prospect of radical change, and still deeply attached to Martin, Camille is compelled to make a choice between the man she loves and the woman she desires.
