Synopsis

Lafe Langdon is found standing over the slain body of fellow rancher Jim Halliday which leads the sheriff to believe that he committed the murder. Lafe writes to his son Tom from prison, naming the Laramie Kid as the man who really committed the murder. Because the Laramie Kid is in Ghost City, a well-guarded outlaw hideout in the Badlands, Tom pretends to be a fugitive outlaw to infiltrate the town. Bess, a woman who is being held in Ghost City by outlaw Kurt Raymer, tries to escape dressed as a man, but Raymer's men prevent her from leaving. Tom enlists her help in identifying the Laramie Kid, and she discovers that Raymer used to be called the Laramie Kid. The bandits grow suspicious of Tom and sentence him to death, but he manages to grab a gun and make his escape along with Bess, her friend, Rose, and Tom's friend, Matty. Tom sends his horse to fetch the sheriff and the posse. The sheriff rounds up the bandits and closes down Ghost City for good.
