Synopsis

After a tornado, several people, including Billy Baer and his girl friend Poppy are staying in the basement of Stratton's New Orleans speakeasy. Because Stratton has equiped his saloon with water-tight doors, the occupants will be saved from rising flood-waters that threaten to break the levee, but they soon begin to realize that their protection from the water will ultimately result in their asphyxiation due to the lack of outside oxygen. Facing their deaths, each person confesses his sins and asks for forgiveness from the others. When the oxygen is almost depleted, members of the group bravely open the doors to find that there is no water outside. Having averted death, most of the occupants revert to their old ways, except for Billy and Poppy, who decide to marry.
