Synopsis

When newspaperman Paul Cluett cleverly gets rival reporter Linda Lawrence to admit that she is investigating a sensational gun-running story in Morocco, he steals her passport and goes to Casablanca to get a jump on the story. Soon after arriving in Africa, Paul's bus is ambushed and stolen by gun-runners to transport weapons. In Fez, while interviewing Foreign Legion officers, Paul runs into Linda, who has managed to get to Africa and is intent on getting the story before Paul. Later, while interviewing ex-New York gangster Tiger Malone, who is serving in the Foreign Legion, Paul is slipped a knockout drug in his drink and wakes to find himself in Malone's uniform and robbed of his money. Paul tells his story to Legion officers, but they think that he is a Legionairre suffering from amnesia. When Paul implores Linda to help him, she pretends that she does not know him. Forced to remain in the Legion, Paul eventually gets to know Palmo, who has a hand in the gunrunners' activities, and asks for his help in effecting an escape from the service. Palmo gets Paul out of the camp, but soon has him driving a truck full of rifles for the gunrunners. Paul tries, but fails, to double-cross Palmo and is forced at gunpoint to deliver the weapons to a place in the desert. Meanwhile, Colonel DeRouget, the French commandant, informs Paul's captain of Malone's escape and tells him that Paul is a newspaper reporter. Linda hears DeRouget's story and volunteers to go out in search of Paul herself. Linda soon finds Paul, who has escaped from captivity by the Arab gunmen, and he saves her life when a gun battle between the gunrunners and the Legionaires ensues. Realizing that they work best as a team, Paul and Linda later decide to marry.
