Synopsis

French journalist Robert Jouvel, who is researching an article on the striptease clubs of London's Soho section, contacts Johnny Solo, owner of the Pink Flamingo, and his singing star girl friend, Midnight Franklin. Spending long hours at the club, Jouvel becomes attracted to Lilliane, a dancer who remains aloof, carefully guarding her past. Solo has been persuaded to team up with his rival, Diamonds Dinelli, in an effort to thwart an unknown blackmailer who has sent them both threatening letters. In reality, Dinelli himself is behind the blackmail plot, and his chief accomplice is Solo's two-timing manager, Novak. After Solo is beaten up by Dinelli's thugs, he discovers the treachery and plots his revenge. Before he can carry out his plan, however, he sends his latest recruit, 15-year-old Pony Tail, on a date with his lecherous backer Arpels, and she is found dead in his flat. Meanwhile, Jouvel, who has gradually gained Lilliane's confidence, discovers that she is a celebrated missing person whose disappearance made headlines in West German newspapers. Solo is held for police questioning in the murder case, and Midnight discovers that he has made plans to kill Novak. Although she knows that he will never forgive her, Midnight protects Solo from himself by betraying him to the police.
