Synopsis
In Ithaca, New York, the Three Stooges are working in a pharmacy run by Ralph Dimsal, an arrogant young man who is attracted to his pretty cosmetic clerk, Diane Quigley. One day the Stooges tamper with a time machine invented by Diane's boyfriend, Schuyler Davis, and transport themselves, Diane, and Schuyler to the Ithaca of 961 B. C. They discover that Ulysses has been dethroned by the arrogant Odius, who bears a remarkable resemblance to Ralph Dimsal. The Stooges and Schuyler escape from Odius' tyranny, but they are captured and made galley slaves by the King of Rhodes, who offers them their freedom if Schuyler can slay the dreaded two-headed cyclops. Aided by tranquilizers to calm his nerves, Schuyler does so and then goes on to overcome other monsters. Upon learning that Odius has designs on Diane and is forcing her into marriage, the Stooges and Schuyler hasten back to Ithaca. Odius challenges Schuyler to fight the famed but dimwitted Hercules in the arena. Schuyler gives Hercules an ignominious beating and forces him to mend his rowdy ways and live up to his future reputation by helping Ulysses regain the throne. Pursued by the enraged Odius, the five adventurers race back to the time machine and return to the present. Ralph Dimsal gets his just deserts when he becomes trapped in the time machine and narrowly escapes spending the rest of his life as a pilloried 17th-century pilgrim.
