Synopsis

In Italy during World War II six GI's from different outfits become detached from the main body of Allied forces. As they band together, they are joined by a seventh, Sam McLease, who is actually a Nazi spy with orders to slay a certain Italian partisan leader in San Corrado. En route to the town, harassment by snipers and the treachery of McLease are responsible for the deaths of three of the Americans. When the remaining four reach San Corrado, McLease captures the partisan leader and attempts to turn him over to the Germans, but the three surviving GI's rescue the partisan. In desperation McLease breaks away and runs for the German lines, but he is mistaken for one of the GI's and shot down by his own men.
