Synopsis

Texas Ranger "Tex" Robbins is assigned to investigate a gang of rustlers in Sage Brush and to watch for the arrival of Chicago gangster Wolf Cassidy, who has been hired by the rustlers. Before Wolf reaches Sage Brush, Tex captures him and has his partner, Shorty Walker, hold him prisoner in a cabin. Dressed in the gangster's clothes, Tex takes his letter of introduction and convinces Three Star Henley, the leader of the rustlers, that he is the Chicago crook. Henley sends Tex to work on a ranch where he is to direct a rustling operation. After Tex falls in love with Ruth O'Bryne, the rancher's daughter, he is discovered as an imposter by the gang. Wolf then escapes, and Ruth's father is killed. Although in love with Tex, Ruth suspects him of participating in her father's murder. Tex, however, convinces Ruth of his innocence after he and Shorty rescue her from the clutches of Wolf's gang and capture her father's true killer.

Notes

Although modern sources list this film as a 1932 release, no contemporary information has been found to corroborate this earlier date. The 1934 release date was found in a 1933-34 Motion Picture Almanac "companies' product" chart under the First Division heading. It is not known if Oliver Drake wrote the screenplay and the story, or just the story. Buddy Roosevelt, Robert Hale and the horse Raven are listed as cast members by modern sources.
