Synopsis
In the 21st century, a system of authorized murder called the "Big Hunt" has replaced war. Caroline Meredith, a licensed hunter, shoots her 9th victim in a New York City art gallery with a sophisticated setup of guns in her brassiere. Her 10th victim, whose death will bring her wealth and fame, is computer-selected Marcello Polletti. Marcello's winnings from six kills have already been spent by his mistress, Olga, and his ex-wife, Lidia. In Rome, while Marcello awaits his unknown assailant, Caroline makes an arrangement with a television company to film her kill as part of a commercial. Impersonating a reporter whose assignment is to study the sexual preoccupations of Italian men, Caroline approaches Marcello to request an interview with him at the Temple of Venus. Wary of meeting Caroline, Marcello arranges for her to be eaten by a crocodile before the cameras of a competing television company. Undaunted, Caroline lures Marcello to the beach and convinces him of her interest in him, and Marcello, for his part, begins to be fascinated by her. At the beach, Caroline drugs Marcello and the next morning hauls him back to the Temple of Venus. Caroline reluctantly shoots Marcello in front of the television cameras, but Marcello survives because he has loaded the gun with blanks. He attempts to take his revenge, but Caroline's bulletproof armorplate saves her life. The experience has drawn the two together, and they board the Wedding Airplane to be married; but after the ceremony, the pilot pulls a gun on the newlyweds.
