Synopsis
Dave, a merchant seaman on a banana boat in the Caribbean, goes alone on shore leave in Nassau despite the request of his happy-go-lucky shipmates, Tony and Rocky, to join them. He befriends Carol, a pregnant, despondent young fish seller and prevents her attempt at suicide. Returning to the ship, Dave is kidded by Rocky and Tony for being a lone wolf, but he continues his Nassau leave alone. At the scene of an auto accident he meets Julie, a stripteaser, who is being romanced by the influential Dr. Franklin. Dave and Julie fall in love. Their affair is aborted, however, when Dave is shipped out. Julie comes down to the dock to see him off, but she is accompanied by Franklin. Dave eventually returns to Nassau, gets drunk, and seduces the reluctant Julie. Their romance is then helped along by the efforts of Julie's girl friend and co-stripper, Chata, and Dave and Julie finally realize happiness with each other.
